Better than anything else (and Ive bought the t-shirt) |
After reading the other reviews I was still a little sceptical about this product since I had tried more than 3 other products to try to network my home computers (one iMac, a desktop PC and a laptop) before this arrived. Im also not very technical so I suppose that didnt really help either. However, despite my reservations, I had the network up and running on all three systems within 30 minutes of opening the box - amazing. The product is also very appealing visually (cant some of these manufacturers employ people with a little more artistic flair?) and isnt desktop-intrusive and can be mounted on the wall if necessary. As a Mac and PC user I have found it difficult sometimes to get reliable advice on networking in the past, but do not fear, after configuring the PCs (with the wizard) the Mac just configured itself (no surprise there then). Dont be disappointed if the wizard doesnt initially give you a connection when it is installing (I asked it to "TEST") - the page refreshed about 3 times and then the connection was up and running. JOY OF JOYS, no more swapping USB modems etc etc etc. If you are considering this as an alternative from the network packages sold by your ISP for Home Networking there is really nothing to consider. My ISP wanted to sell me a package that cost almost £200 and I still needed an additional piece of equipment which they didnt sell, couldnt advise me where to buy and which I couldnt find anywhere online. Save yourself some time and money, hassle and additional expense by getting this all in one!

Highly recommended |

This really is the dogs danglies. I had my ISP details 2 weeks before my activation, so I just popped the details in via the web based config panel. On my activation date, everything came to life straight away with no problems.

Very good product, easy to use |
I wanted the router so I can link up ps2 and 2 pcs. It was exteremely easy to set up although the firewall is slightly harder to configure. The most common ports on the firewall are open already so a lot of things will work on there with no configuration. The settings screen is quite easy to understand as help is provided all over the place. You set up services and then you use those services to set up firewall rules. Each rule can be turned on or off so as you can close down ports that arent been used for more security. Theres also features to route traffic to certain ip. Pretty much any feature you could think of is included meaning that your internet connection is not limited in any way by the firewall. High speeds, good security, excellent features, nice design and easy to use.
